The Head coach Joachim Low, Germany’s squad has named his 23 men team for the Euro Cup. The interesting thing is that the coach has left out Cacau, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Sven Bender and Julian Draxler. He decided this early on Monday and flew the quartet back to Germany immediately after the decision.
The head coach will be explaining his selection in a few days after the practice and build up to their first match against Portugal on June 9th. This selection is quite exciting for the fans as there are only three strikers in the team which include Mario Gomez, Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski. On the other hand the exclusion of Draxler and Sven Bender is not as much surprising but definitely disappointing.
Here is what you would expect the squad to look like:
Goalkeepers
Manuel Neuer, Tim Wiese, Ron-Robert Zieler.
Defenders
Holger Badstuber, Jerome Boateng, Benedikt Hoewedes, Mats Hummels, Philipp Lahm, Per Mertesacker, Marcel Schmelzer.
Midfielders
Lars Bende, Mario Götze, Ilkay Gundogan, Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller, Mesut Ozil, Marco Reus, Andre Schürrle, Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Forwards
Mario Gomez, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski
