Euro 2012-Uniform for England doesn't include Red

England is out with the red and in with the controversial indigo and sky blue strip uniform for the Euro Cup 2012. The English team also wore those shirts in the 1-0 win over Norway this Sunday and hopefully, they will be wearing it again for the group stage fixture against Sweden this weekend. However the ‘Three Lions’ has decided to wear the traditional white kit for their matches against France and Ukraine in the tournament. And ultimately, if the squad makes it to the quarter finals against Spain or Italy, it surely means that the men can stay in white.
The white uniform has a long history and a great importance for the country. It was made famous after the English team made its way to glory in the 1966 World Cup and then again in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
However some also relate the abandoning of red as the Blitz. It was only in 1950 that the team’s alternate strip was blue instead of red and England had to face a humiliating 1-0 defeat by USA in the very initial stages of the tournament. Everyone definitely hopes that this time things turn out to be much better. To watch live matches covering England and all your favorite teams, you can follow us here.
